“I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I’ll bless your name into eternity. I’ll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity. GOD is magnificent; he can never be praised enough. There are no boundaries to his greatness. Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts. Your beauty and splendor have everyone talking; I compose songs on your wonders. Your marvelous doings are headline news; I could write a book full of the details of your greatness. The fame of your goodness spreads across the country; your righteousness is on everyone’s lips. GOD is all mercy and grace— not quick to anger, is rich in love. GOD is good to one and all; everything he does is suffused with grace. Creation and creatures applaud you, GOD; your holy people bless you. They talk about the glories of your rule, they exclaim over your splendor,”(The Message)

July 2, 1776. As the sun rose, much like today, men were preparing to gather and approve a Resolution that would dramatically change our world. They would work on the draft of The Declaration of Independence and on July 4th as representatives of the various states they would formally ratify the document and the United States of America would be born.

"Conceived in Liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal'!

The last 241 years have not always been easy, nor have we always lived up to those lofty ideals. But the United States of America is still a vibrant, living nation of individual who are free to strive to make this a "more perfect union"!

Through all of these years, from our very foundation, we have had a "firm reliance on God", in his mercy, love and providence!

Somehow farmers, merchants, attorney's, sharecropper's, the educated and the uneducated managed to come together and defeat one of the mightiest armies of the day.

Love of country, the desire for freedom and the divine providence of God forged a new nation, with a new concept that would change the direction of the world and become the beacon of freedom!

This morning churches all across the country are celebrating in some way, God and Country Day, Independence Day! Acknowledging God's blessing of our country!

I am excited and privileged to have a few, very few minutes (lol) to offer a meditation near the end of our God and Country Worship Celebration!

Thank you God for your blessings and I pray that we continue to have the courage to strive to become the ideals and truth that we hold dear!

“I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I’ll bless your name into eternity. I’ll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity"!!!
